Ways to connect

Careers page

A public page for your organisation: your logo, a short introduction and every live role, each with an Apply button. It updates itself whenever you post or close a role, and it can sit on your own domain. Live

Switch it on

  1. Sign in with your employer account and open Settings.
  2. In the Careers page panel, upload your logo and fill in the details below.
  3. Tick the switch to turn the page on, and save.
  4. Your page is live at the address shown in the panel, opportunityplatform.co.uk/careers/at/your-name. Share it or link to it from your own site.

What is on the page

  • Your logo, name, website link and introduction.
  • Every live role you have posted on the platform, newest first, then the live roles from your own careers page or ATS if you have connected it and the connection is verified. Up to 100 in all, each with the title, type, location, pay and closing date and an Apply button.
  • How to ask for adjustments to the application process, sent to your contact address.

Apply on a role posted on the platform opens its job page. Apply on a role from your connected site goes through a short step on opportunityplatform.co.uk that records the interest, then on to your own apply page. Draft and closed roles, and roles from a connection still waiting for review, never appear.

On your own domain

You can show the page at an address of your own, such as careers.yourco.com. It has to be a subdomain: your main address (yourco.com) cannot be used. It is self-serve, from the same careers panel, and needs no help from us. Live

Your own domain is not included in a free trial. It is switched on once you are on a contract with us.

  1. In the Use your own domain part of the careers panel, type the address and press Add address.
  2. The panel lists the DNS records to add, each with a copy button:
    • a CNAME record pointing your address at customers.opportunityplatform.co.uk;
    • one or two TXT records: one proves you own the address, the other lets us issue its security certificate (the padlock).
  3. Add them at the company that manages your domain, exactly as shown, and keep them in place afterwards.
  4. That is it. Once the records check out, the address goes live by itself, usually within minutes; the status moves from Waiting for your DNS to Checking certificate to Live. Press Check again to see the latest. A domain that has just gone live can take up to a minute more to start serving the page. DNS changes at some providers take a few hours to be seen.

If an address is not completed within 7 days, it is removed and you can add it again. You can add up to five addresses in 15 minutes.

What works on your own domain

  • Visitors can
See your careers page, open each job page and read our privacy and terms pages. Search engines get a sitemap of your roles.
    Happens on opportunityplatform.co.uk
Signing in, creating an account and applying. Pressing Apply takes the visitor to that role on opportunityplatform.co.uk, where they apply as normal.

No sign-in ever takes place on your domain, and no account cookie is set there. Any other address on your domain goes back to your careers page.

Questions and troubleshooting

My page says "not found".

The page is switched off, or not saved since you switched it on. Tick the switch in the careers panel and save.

A role is missing from the page.

Check the role is live: published and not draft or closed, or, for a role from your connected site, still on that site. Roles from a connection appear only once the connection is verified, and are refreshed twice a day.

My DNS provider added my domain twice.

Some providers add your domain to the record name for you. If yours does, enter only the part before your domain, for example careers rather than careers.yourco.com.

The status says Failed.

Check each record against the panel, then press Check again. If it still fails, remove the address and add it again, or ask us.

Can I use yourco.com itself?

No. A CNAME record cannot sit on a main domain, so use a subdomain such as careers. or jobs.
